Monday 25th / Tuesday 26th -  We meet our Tour Leader at the Malta International Airport at 9.55pm for check in.  We take the direct flight Air Malta on Tuesday at 00.55am to Tel Aviv, Israel where we arrive at 04.40am.  On arrival we meet our local representative who will help us with the airport formalities, taking us on a private Coach to Nazareth.  On arrival and checking in at the hotel where we will have breakfast. Today we have an excursion to Nazareth visiting the Basilica of the Annunciation, for Mass celebrated by our Spiritual Director.  We enter the Grotto where the Angel Gabriel appeared to Our Lady telling her that she was to become the Mother of God.  We will also visit the Church of St. Joseph, the Archaeological Museum, the Angel Gabriel Sanctuary, the Synagogue and Our Lady’s Well.  Lunch follows at the Holy Land Restaurant. We then proceed to Cana, visiting the Sanctuary where Our Lord performed his first miracle, changing water into wine at the Wedding of Cana (John 2: 1-11).  Here, for the special benefit of married couples in our Group, our Spiritual Director will perform the rite of the Renewal of the Wedding Vows, at the most sacred altar in the Sanctuary.  We end the day with Dinner together at our Hotel.


Wednesday 27th - After breakfast, our Local Guide will escort us to the Church of the Beatitudes, situated on the hill, where Jesus recited the Beatitudes, immortally proclaiming ‘Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven’ (Matthew 5).  Our Spiritual Director will celebrate Holy Mass here. We then proceed to Tabgħa, where Jesus performed the Miracle of the 5 Loaves and 3 Fishes (Mark 6:36-44, Matthew 14: 13-21, John 6: 1-6), visiting the Sanctuary there.  We then proceed to Capharnaum, the town of Jesus.  We visit the Sanctuary of the Primate, built in 1934 on the keystone known as Mensa Christi.  Traditionally, this is where Jesus appeared to the Disciples, ordering Peter to look after His sheep.  (John 21:9). After Lunch at Tannureen, we take boat on the Sea of Galilee, where we visit Tiberias, well known for its panoramic views. We then proceed to the River Jordan, to renew our Baptismal Vows.  We finish the day with Dinner at the Hotel.


Thursday 28th - After Breakfast our guide will take us on an excursion of Mount Tabor, 1900 feet above sea level.  This picturesque mountain in Galilee, boasts a panorama of mountains in Syria, Jordan and throughout Israel.  Mount Tabor is the sacred spot chosen by Christ Himself for His Transfiguration (Luke 9:28-36).  We then proceed to Haifa, the third largest City in Israel, with a population of 225,000.  Situated in a magnificent bay on the Mediterranean coast, it is Israel’s main port.  The Carmelite Order Convent, established here in 1207, is found on top of Mount Carmel, where we visit the Prophet Elijah’s cave.  In 1799 Napoleon attacked Acre, but was beaten back by the Turks, who then massacred all the wounded soldiers left behind, destroying the Convent in the process.  The remains of these soldiers are located under a pyramid, a monument in front of the actual Convent.  The Church was built in 1823, venerating an outstanding statue of our Lady of Mount Carmel, manufactured from Cedar of Lebanon. After Lunch, we proceed up the mountain to a place called Muhraqa.  This is where Elijah, witnessed by 450 priests of the God Baal, offered his sacrifice to God. We then return to the Hotel for dinner and a well earned rest.


Friday 1st March -   After Breakfast, we leave Nazareth for Jerusalem, traversing the Desert of Judea towards Jericho, the oldest inhabited city in the world.  With the help of our local guide, we then approach Mount Quarantel, where Jesus spent 40 days fasting, being tempted by the Devil (Luke 4:1-13, Mark 1: 12-13).  We visit the Qumran Caves, home of the Dead Sea Scrolls, where ancient documents of enormous historical significance were discovered inside pottery jars.  The scrolls are then featured in an audio visual Presentation. After Lunch at the Mount Temptation Restaurant, Holy Mass is celebrated for us at the Church of the Good Shepherd.  This is followed by a trip to the Dead Sea, with the optional unique experience of a swim in the renowned healthy salty water.  This is where Jesus healed the rich man (Luke 18:35-42), with Zacharias climbing a tree to be able to see Jesus better (Luke 19). After check in, dinner is at the Hotel in Jerusalem.


Saturday 2nd March  - Breakfast is followed by a guided full day tour of Bethlehem.  A short stop at Bethany is followed by visits to the Sanctuary of the Milk Grotto and the Sanctuary of the Shepherds, where Angels proclaimed the Birth of Jesus.  Mass is followed by Lunch at the Casa Nova Restaurant and a visit to the Basilica of the Nativity, built in cruciform style over the Nativity Cave.  Here we go down to the Grotto under the Main Altar, with the Silver Star commemorating the first Christmas, in the spot where the Manger was located.   Shopping may follow, time permitting, ending with Dinner at the Hotel.


Sunday 3rd March - After an early Breakfast, we spend another day with our guide in Jerusalem starting with Mass celebrated by our Spiritual Director at the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre.  A trip to Calvary, site of Christ’s Crucifixion, takes us to the marble slab, on which Jesus’s body was anointed, and to the site of His Tomb.  We then go to the Jewish Quarter and The Western Wall, known as The Wailing Wall.  We visit the Dormition Church of Our Lady, where our Lady passed away and the GalliCantu, the Palace of the Chief Priest where St. Peter denied any knowledge of Jesus.  Following Lunch at the Casa Nova Restaurant, we visit the house of the Last Supper on Mount Sion (Zion) where Jesus established the Sacrament of the Eucharist changing bread and wine into his Body and Blood (Mark 14:12-16, Luke 22:7-13).  In this very same room, Jesus appeared to the Apostles twice, following his Death and Resurrection (John 20:19-24,29).   Also the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles in this room (Acts: 2:1-4).  Today we also go the Church built on the site where Our Lady was reputedly buried and ascended into Heaven.  We also see the Apostles’ Grotto and walk the Way of the Cross.  We visit the Church of St. Anna, the best preserved Church following the Crusades, built over the Crypt of the House of St. Anne and St. Joachim, Our Lady’s parents.  We also visit the Church of Christ’s Scourging at the Pillar and Sentencing.  Here we start The Way of the Cross taking us to the Basilica of Christ’s Sepulchre.  We end the day with Dinner at the Hotel.


Monday 4th March - Breakfast is followed by a trip with our guide to the Mount of Olives and the Sanctuary of Betfagi (of Palm Sunday fame), and the Mosque of the Ascension where Jesus blessed the Apostles before ascending into Heaven (Acts 1:9-12).  We also visit the Sanctuary of the Pater Noster, where, traditionally, Jesus taught the Apostles how to pray.  He also predicted the sacking of Jerusalem, and his final return to Earth (Matthew 24:1-3, Luke 21:5-7).  We also visit the Dominus Flevit, a Church built in 1891 in teardrop form, with the main altar surrounded by a panoramic view of Jerusalem.  As He entered Jerusalem triumphantly on Palm Sunday, he gazed back at the City and cried (Luke 19:37-42), Our Spiritual Director then celebrates Mass at the Basilica of Gethsemane, the sacred garden where Jesus prayed God to spare him the oncoming agony of his Crucifixion. This Church is also known as the Church of all Nations having been built with contributions from 16 nations. Lunch is at the Casa Nova Restaurant in the picturesque village Ein Karem. We then visit St. John the Baptist’s birthplace and the Franciscan Sanctuary built in 1885, housing the canticle of Zacharia written in various languages, including Maltese.  We visit the Church of the Visitation, where Our Lady visited her cousin St. Elizabeth, pregnant with St. John the Baptist.  Here we find the Magnificat written in 41 languages, including Maltese.  We end the day with Dinner at the Hotel.


Tuesday 5th March - We leave for Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, to arrive at 3.30am to catch the flight back home with Air Malta leaving at 6.30am,arriving in Malta at 8.35am.
