Friday, April 17 - We meet at Malta International Airport at 1.50am for our direct flight departing Malta at 3.50am and arriving at 6.20am in Thessaloniki, the capital city of Northern Greece, the second most important city after Athens. On arrival we are transferred to our 4 star hotel. Buffet breakfast and check into rooms.  Mid-morning we start our free panoramic tour of Thessaloniki which includes the Galerian complex – Rotunda triumphal arch, Via Egnatia with the medieval churches, the holocaust monument, the port of Thessaloniki and the symbol of the city - the white tower. 
We will do 3 stopovers – the city walls, the trigonion tower with the panorama of the city and the Basilica of St Demetrius from the 5th Century A.D. with the Roman bath below. Later we stop at Cosmos Shopping Complex where we will have time for shopping and some snack (extra).  In the evening one can have optional buffet dinner at the hotel and later go out with the tour leader to enjoy the night life of Thessaloniki.

Saturday, April 18  - Buffet breakfast and an early start to the day, taking us towards Meteora and Kalambaka on this optional full day excursion. The rocks of Meteora give visitors the opportunity to combine nature with religious and archeological interests, including the 6 monasteries that survived to this day and are masterpieces of the 12th century until the 18th century A.D. Frescoes and icons, everyday life of a monastery together with the small museums allow the visitor to feel the serenity of the monastic life, whilst enjoying breathtaking views. One has the option to visit two of these monasteries.
Kalambaka, the town at the foot of the rocks, is a charming little town where we will stop for some free time.
Optional dinner at hotel and we can then can go for another enjoyable evening.

Sunday, April 19 - After buffet breakfast we go on a full day optional excursion to Kalava and Philippi. One of the most beautiful routes in the country will take us from Thessaloniki and along the lakes to Phillippi, the first Roman city across Europe. 
The Basilica, the agora, the famous theatre and the Baptistery of Lydia - first Christian Lady in Europe - are the most interesting sites. We will continue to Kavala, with the medieval castle and the traditional part of Panagia. One of the squares of the city boasts incredible buildings like the 2 town halls and the Catholic monastery of the Lazaristes.   Optional dinner at hotel.

Monday, April 20 - Buffet breakfast, then we start our last beautiful optional excursion to the Edessa Waterfalls and Pozar Springs.   We first visit the Edessa Waterfalls, which are the main attraction of visitors to the city of Edessa.  There are twelve waterfalls in the area, of which four are easily visible.  We then continue to the Pozar Springs, located at 40km from Edessa town, where we will spend some relaxing time.  
We return to our hotel to check out from our rooms at 6pm and an optional dinner. We later make our way to the airport for our flight back to Malta departing Thessaloniki at 00.15am arriving in Malta at 00.50am of Tuesday morning.
