At 5.45am, we meet the tour leader at the airport for check-in.  At 7.55am, we depart on Air Malta’s flight KM612 to Rome Fiumicino’s airport.  On arrival, at 9.20am, we depart by private coach to Naples and check in at Hotel Real Orto Botanico 4**** (or similar).  Afterwards, together with the tour leader, we go out for a familiarisation walk around the city, where we will have the opportunity to start enjoying the festive season.
In the evening, we go out again for dinner (extra).

A very interesting day awaits us.  After buffet breakfast, we offer you an optional full day excursion to Pompei.  Here we will visit the church of St. Mary Assumption where we can view a lovely antique nativity crib.  Afterwards, we go to San Pietro di Scafati to visit the artistic crib (entrance included) which is spread over 2000m.sq where, under one roof, one finds around 3000 nativity figurines, 2000 of which are mechanical.  This crib is one of a kind and a real masterpiece.
In the evening, we go out for dinner (extra).

Buffet breakfast.  Afterwards we go on a walking tour with the tour leader where we visit the Duomo of Naples and the chapel of San Gennaro.  The rest of the morning is free to enjoy ourselves in the famous street San Gregorio Armeno which is well known throughout Italy. Here you can admire the numerous shops with creative nativity figurines in all shapes and sizes.  Besides the Jesus and Madonna figurines, you will also find thousands of accessories and material to build your own crib, including animals, houses, wells, waterfalls powered by electric engine, small lakes, trees, grasslands and many other beautiful things, most of which are hand-made.
In the afternoon, we offer you a half day excursion to the Museo Nazionale di San Martino (entrance included). Here we will see the monastery of San Martino dating back to the 17th Century and endowed with paintings, sculptures and frescoes by renowned artists.  This Monastery also houses a museum, which is divided into various sections.  One of them is a section dedicated to nativity cribs and is mostly known for the Presepio Cuciniello, which has many nativity figurines and is considered to be one of the most beautiful cribs in the world. In the evening, we go out with the tour leader for dinner (extra), and to enjoy the last evening of our holiday.

After early buffet breakfast, we depart by coach to Monte Cassino to visit the famous Benedictine Monastery – built in 529 A.D by St. Benedict of Norcia.  This Monastery was destroyed during World War II but was rebuilt and consecrated by Pope Paul VI in 1964.  After visiting the Monastery, we continue with our drive to Fiumicino airport for check in.  At 4.05pm we depart on Air Malta’s flight KM613, arriving in Malta at 5.30pm.
