Friday, April 6
We meet at Malta International Airport at 3am for our direct flight to Thessaloniki departing at 5am and arriving at 7.35am in the capital city of Northern Greece, the second most important city after Athens. 
On arrival we are transferred to our 4 star hotel. We check in our rooms and have buffet breakfast. 
Mid-morning we start our optional panoramic tour of Thessaloniki which includes the Galerian complex – Rotunda triumphal arch, Via Egnatia with the medieval churches, the holocaust monument, the port of Thessaloniki and the symbol of the city - the white tower. 
We will do 3 stopovers – the city walls, the trigonion tower with the panorama of the city and the Basilica of St Demetrius from the 5th Century A.D. with the Roman bath below. 
The rest of the day is free for personal sightseeing and to discover Thessaloniki.

Saturday, April 7 
An early start to the day, taking us towards Meteora and Kalambaka on this optional full day excursion. The rocks of Meteora give visitors the opportunity to combine nature with religious and archeological interests including the 6 monasteries that survived to this day are masterpieces of the 12th century until the 18th century A.D. 
Frescoes and icons, everyday life of a monastery together with the small museums allow the visitor to feel the serenity of the monastic life. 
Kalambaka, the town at the foot of the rocks, with the monasteries is a charming little town facing these milestones of the Orthodox Church. Optional dinner at hotel.

Sunday, April 8 
After breakfast we go on a full day optional excursion to Kalava and Philippi. One of the most beautiful routes in the country will take us from Thessaloniki and along the lakes to Phillippi, the first Roman city across Europe. 
The Basilica, the agora, the famous theatre and the Baptistery of Lydia - first Christian Lady in Europe - are the most interesting sites. We will continue to Kavala, the capital of the country, with the medieval castle and the traditional part of Panagia. One of the squares of the city boasts incredible buildings like the 2 town halls and the Catholic monastery of the Lazaristes. Optional dinner at hotel.

Monday, April 9
Breakfast, then we start our last day with an optional excursion to Dion and Mount Olympus. The religious centre of the ancient Macedonias Dion stands at the foot of the mountain of the Ancient Olympian Gods.
Mt Olympus, with an altitude of 2.917m, will be the highlight of the tour with the temples, the villas, the streets, and the Roman baths. The museum boast the oldest organ in the world - the famous hydravlis. 
The walk to Mt Olympus will lead us to the springs of Litohoro, the beautiful village which is the ‘gate’ to the spectacular mountain. 
We return to our hotel to check out from our rooms at 7pm and an optional dinner. We later make our way to the airport for our flight back to Malta departing Thessaloniki at 2.35am arriving in Malta at 3.10am of Tuesday morning.
